Dust on the Sea was published to great acclaim in 1972 on the heels of Run Silent, Run Deep, Edward L. Beach's first best-selling novel of submarine warfare. Like its predecessor, this novel was lauded for its authentic portrayal of a submariner's life during the desperate years of World War II in the Pacific.
