Florida-based small-animal veterinarian Bellows presents his third book on veterinary dentistry, this one focusing on cats. Though cats are affected by periodontal disease and fractured teeth like dogs and other small animals, he says, their primary oral pathologies include tooth resorption, oropharangyeal inflammation, and maxillofacial cancer. Plaque prevention products and techniques are also unique, so veterinary dentists really need a separate reference on cats. He discusses such topics as anatomy, radiology, oral pathology, anesthesia, treating endodontic disease, occlusion disorders, oral swellings and tumors, and plaque control.
