Patrick Edwards, who trained at the Boule School in Paris, France, and who is now known nationwide as a furniture restorer and traditional inlay artist working at his own school in San Diego, California. We also revisit Marc Adams in Indiana, for a foundation course in the use of four important finishes; essential information for woodworkers of every stripe. Further south in Kentucky we catch up with David Wright for the final episode in his three-part series on Windsor chair-making. Watch him lay out and turn the legs for this American classic. Carving takes many forms among woodworkers, and one of the more masterful practitioners of this exacting art is Floyd Scholz, who takes us step-by-step through the largely rotary process of turning a block of tupelo into a lifelike kestrel. Our last feature is set in the picturesque village of Paintlick, Kentucky, where Don Weber demonstrates how he works to preserve the use of traditional tools such as pole lathe, spoon bit and adze: tools our fathers and grandfathers used.
