This monograph represents the work of Dutch-born artist Hans Van de Bovenkamp, who is best known for his site-specific monumental outdoor sculptures. Working in bronze, aluminum, and stainless steel, Van de Bovenkamp evokes sacred spaces and depicts prehistoric sacred stone monuments, water, clouds, plants, ocean waves, as well as the sun and moon. The book's 94 full-page color photographs show his sculptures and a few of his drawings. Essays by art historian Braff, art critic Kuspit, and the artist's friend and neighbor Larsen illuminate Van de Bovenkamp's life & work. A chronology, a list of selected exhibitions, and a bibliography are included at the end of the book. Distributed in the US by National Book Network, Inc.
