The book opens with a series of popular articles and essays by Budker, followed by remembrances that shed light on two major periods of his life: his early work at the Kurchatov Institute in Moscow from the end of WWII through 1957, and his founding and direction of the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Novosibirsk until his death in 1977.
