This work describes recent research in plant-based therapeutic agents, and will be of interest to pharmacologists, botanists, microbiologists, clinicians, biotechnologists, natural product researchers, and practitioners of ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine. Focus is on naturally occurring, plant-based anticancer, antiviral, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory compounds. The pharmaceutical potential of cannabinoid receptor ligands is also discussed. Carpinella is professor and research in the School of Chemistry at Catholic University of Córdoba, Argentina.
