This book offers a collection of recent research outcomes covering most of the popular frameworks and standards used for IT governance and IT service management. Case studies from Australia, New Zealand, the US, Europe, Israel, Korea, and Mexico shed light on the challenges and benefits experienced by organizations in their initial adoption of the frameworks and subsequent revisions. Section I provides literature reviews of previous research on IT governance, and Section II contains six case studies of IT governance. Section III provides perspectives on the relationship of IT governance to business, corporate governance, and IT security. It also considers governance as it relates to IT portfolio management, outsourcing, and software development. Section IV describes models of IT service management such as ITIL and ISO/IEC 2000. A double-blind review process was used for all chapters submitted. The readership for the book includes academics, students, and practitioners in fields affected by IT in organizations.
