This extensive taxonomic catalog from Drew and Romig records the diversity of fruit flies native to Southeast Asia in family Dacinae including the genera Bactrocera, Dacus, Ichneumonopsis, and Monacrostichus. Some new species are described and several are recategorized. The book covers generic and subgeneric classification, species listed in each category, and a section on identification of cryptic species. The majority of the book consists of species descriptions including the source of specimens studied, detailed physical morphology, sexual dimorphisms, chemical attractants, similarities and differential diagnosis from other species. Line drawings follow the text descriptions. A table of species deemed economically important (largely due to pest activity) is included. Distributed in the US by Stylus Publishing.
