This guide will help students, educators, and librarians locate key subject-specific online resources in the performing arts, art and architecture, languages and literature, philosophy, and religion. Entries are organized so that readers can search for different forms or genres of information, such as scholarly articles, primary source material, or statistical data. An introduction summarizes the online research process and discusses issues related to open access in electronic journals and repositories. The rest of the book contains annotated entries on academic, professional, and government resources such as abstracting and indexing databases, web directories and information portals, websites of professional societies and organizations, archival collections of primary texts, and databases of audio, video, and images. Individual entries contain notes on the scope and content of the resource. The name of each resource's creator and home institution are also provided, to aid in tracking down resources that may have moved or changed domain names. Dubnjakovic and Tomlin are librarians at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Distributed in the North America by Neal-Schuman.
