Each December, prior to the Nobel Prize Award in Economic Sciences ceremony in Stockholm, the laureates give special lectures; at the award ceremony, a member of the Prize Committee gives a brief presentation speech summarizing the prize-winning contribution. In this text, Englund (finance, Stockholm School of Economics) assembles the lectures and presentation speeches for the years 2001-2005, along with the laureates own autobiographies. The honored recipients include George Akerlof, Michael Spence, and Joseph Stiglitz for 2001; Daniel Kahneman and Vernon Smith for 2002; Robert Engle and Clive Granger for 2003; Finn Kydland and Edward Prescott for 2004; and Robert Aumann and Thomas Schelling for 2005. The text continues the Nobel Foundation's efforts to make the lectures from its Award ceremonies available to English speakers with special interests in the different fields awarded with the Prize.
