Questo è un thriller ambientato nel mondo dei numeri, in particolare del calcolo statistico e delle probabilità. E non manca la fantascienza, infatti il protagonista si accorgerà di riuscire a predire il corso degli eventi. Tutto sommato è un romanzo interessante e abbastanza coinvolgente. Certo che se uno è intollerante ai numeri è bene che scelga qualcos’altro.
Studioso della teoria delle probabilità e giocatore d'azzardo, il protagonista si è indebitato con la mafia russa di New York. A causa di una grave forma di epilessia l'uomo inizia una cura in via di sperimentazione che gli procura degli strani poteri, infatti riesce a vedere quello che succede nel futuro. D'ora in avanti la sua vita non sarà più la stessa.
