Written from the perspective of the requirements of managed care, this book explains how to apply brief, existing, generic treatments to help manage traumatized patients and diminish or eliminate their traumatic symptoms. After a theoretical overview, chapters describe generic and trauma-focused treatments, providing detailed information for the practitioner on incorporating the treatment approach into an overall plan of action. Some of the approaches discussed include thought field therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, neuro- linguistic programing, and narrative therapy. These treatments are discussed in relation to cult survivors, patients with anxiety disorders, divorcing couples, and law enforcement officers.
