They emphasize statistics and analysis in the design and interpretation of genomic data, and do not focus on the biological impact. This edition has been updated to include recent developments in genome sequencing, next-generation resequencing, whole-genome genotyping, genome-wide association studies, commercial gene chips and bead arrays for whole-transcriptome profiling, and advances in metabolomics and systems biology.
