Now with the Battery Conservancy in New York, Glazier is the former director of the Center for Migration Research at the Balch Institute for Ethnic Studies and Immigration. His series of texts on emigration from the UK to the U.S. between 1870 and 1897 provide historians and genealogists with a database of English, Welsh, Scottish, and Irish immigrants arriving at the Port of New York in the last quarter of the 19th century. Created from the original U.S. ship manifest collection in the National Archives, the passenger lists include information on the first and last name of each passenger, their age, sex, occupation, nationality, residence, and putative destination. Each volume in the series includes an introductory essay describing the series and providing general background information on 19th-century emigration from the UK to U.S. Volume 9 presents passenger lists from January through August 1874, and includes an index by passenger name.
