In conjunction with the production of the play Cyclops in February 2003, a conference was organized in Cincinnati, Ohio to explore the current trends in scholarship and future directions for research on satyr drama. In addition to the play itself, the papers from the conference consider prosatyric drama; fragments of other satyr dramas; the intellectual currents in which satyr drama was written, produced, and performed; the relationship of language both within the play and as that language refracted the concerns of contemporary society; and other topics.
