This handbook provides 30 structured learning opportunities for meetings of professional learning communities (PLCs). The book is written as a companion to the author's previous work, Leading Professional Learning Communities: Voices from Research and Practice, but can also be used as a stand-alone guide. It begins by briefly reviewing what a PLC is, the roles of its members, and the reasons for establishing and supporting the PLC in a school. The activities are designed to facilitate individual and team development, and explore shared leadership, intentional collective learning, and values and vision. Each activity gives notes on outcome, assumptions, materials, and suggested time (one or at most two consecutive group meetings), then provides step-by-step instructions accompanied by charts, worksheets, readings, research briefs, surveys, or other tools.
