Looks at stars that have hydrogen line emission and forbidden [Fe II] and [O I] emission lines in their spectra, and are characterized by a strong excess of infrared due to circumstellar dust. About 100 galactic objects have been classified B[e] but only 15 or so have been studied in much detail. The 38 papers cover current definitions; distances, kinematics, and distribution in our galaxy; spectroscopy; infrared properties; photometry, polarimetry, and interferometry; models for the surrounding winds and disks; the evolutionary status of B[e] supergiants; and a revised classification scheme.
