Kacapyr (economics, Ithaca College, New York) thinks most introductory econometric courses try to cover too much ground. He takes two semesters to cover the material here, he says, because it is presented concisely, and students learn mostly by doing: downloading the data, wrestling with statistical software, and interpreting the outcome. The textbook in intended for junior or senior students of economics who have a solid grounding in statistics. Students might also use it as a supplement to a required text. The data sets for all the chapter-end problems are available online; solutions to odd-numbered problems, and six sample exams (with solutions) are provided in the text.
