Lange, a photographer, offers a guide for advanced amateur photographers to Yellowstone and the Tetons that details where and when to go, how to find the best shots, his favorite locations, equipment to use, important rules and regulations, and photographic ethics. He integrates his own color photos of the areas throughout the book, which also describes techniques to use when photographing thermal features, waterfalls, scenery, wildlife and wildflowers, and Yellowstone and the Tetons in autumn and winter. He does not cover the basic artistic and technical aspects of nature photography. Maps are included, and there is a bit of discussion of lodging, park entrances, and facilities. There is no index.
