Liebelt (social anthropology, U. of Bayreuth, Germany) studies Filipina migrants employed in providing care to the elderly and doing domestic work in Israel. She investigates care ethnographically, looks at Filipina care-workers as neither mere victims of globalization nor unhindered creative transnationals, and argues that practices and orientations of the migrants change throughout the migration process.
