This textbook will help students in physical therapy programs build relationships with their patients and colleagues. After sections on foundations of engaged professionalism and effective communication, two sections are devoted to internal communication (what you say to yourself and how it affects your outlook and self esteem) and external communication topics, such as negotiation skills, social awareness, and emotional intelligence. The final section covers instrumental communication, with chapters on teaching advocacy and leadership skills.
