Without more proficient infantry squads, U.S. forces may never be able to attack a fortified enemy position by complete surprise. That's because no more than 14 people can successfully sneak up on one. After those 14 have cleared a path through its perimeter obstacles and sentries, their parent unit can secretly move in. That's a lot safer than storming the place with guns blazing. As a result, many other nations now use such squads as the spearpoint of every attack and composite strongpoint of every defense. Yet, because of the Pentagon's obsession with technology, U.S. forces have never developed such a capability. That may be largely why America hasn't decisively won a major overseas conflict since WWII. Better squads require members with more skill and initiative. Such members can often make a strategic difference on their own—like spotting the hidden entrance to an underground ammunition cache. Thus, the term—“Strategic Rifleman”—is born. With more tactical surprise comes less collateral damage and fewer friendly casualties (surprise and firepower are interchangeable). A squad of strategic riflemen would also require less force after surprising their opposition. That's why such riflemen are the “key to more moral warfare.” Heavily illustrated and full of close-combat accounts, this book shows how to become/produce a Strategic Rifleman. As such, it would make the perfect gift for the recent recruit. That's why The Tiger's Way: A U.S. Private's Best Chance for Survival has now become Posterity Press's best seller. Strategic Rifleman would also interest anyone wanting more national security at less cost in dollars from the Pentagon. With its budget being cut, WWIII may hang in the balance.
