This text for an introductory undergraduate course for pre-service teachers applies concepts of disability studies to special education. After a history of special education, part 2 covers interventions from birth through adolescence, classroom management, and collaboration with parents and other agencies. Part 3 presents instructional strategies for five content areas, plus social and communication strategies for all students.
