Sadiku (Prairie View A&M U., Texas) updates his textbook for a senior or graduate course of one or two semesters. He assumes students have previously completed a course introducing electromagnetics, are conversant in a high-level computer language, and have at least a basic knowledge of the MATLAB software package. Linear algebra and numerical analysis might also be helpful, he says, but is not necessary. He explains how to pose, numerically analyze, and solve electromagnetic problems; and how to expand problem-solving skills using a variety of available numerical methods as a means of preparing graduate students for research in the electromagnetic field.
