Pottery Mound, New Mexico, was occupied from the late 14th century into the late 15th. It was first excavated, during the 1950s and 1960s, when ancestors of today's Pueblo peoples were not of much interest to most scholars, so the findings were not widely published nor the initial interpretations scrutinized and debated.
