Twenty-five academics, consultants, and practitioners from Canada and the US contribute 17 chapters to a revised textbook for use in advanced undergraduate-level courses in applied social psychology. The second edition maintains the first edition's balance of theory, research, and application. The text has undergone some reorganization to create a new section on "applying social psychology to one's own life," which includes a new chapter on positive well being/optimism. The chapter on applying social psychology to the community has also been restructured and substantially rewritten; the majority of chapters include new sections and/or thoroughly revised sections; and references have been updated in all chapters, resulting in some 400 new citations.
