Thomas Stocker (pathology, pediatrics, and emerging infectious disease, Uniformed Services U. of the Health Sciences) and Louis P. Dehner (pathology and immunology, Washington University in St Louis) now have their names at the head of the title for this third edition text, and they are joined by a third editor, Aliya N. Husain (pathology, U. of Chicago). Presentation is in one volume, and the contents are considerably different, although the two-section structure remains the same. Eight chapters in the initial section address general pathology techniques including the pediatric autopsy, fine-needle aspiration, molecular techniques first and second trimester pregnancy loss, chromosomal abnormalities, and congenital anomalies and malformation syndromes, among other topics. Following are 19 chapters devoted to organ system pathology, beginning with the placenta and proceeding through organs and systems, ending with the skeletal system.
