For each they examine the history of the conflict and the atrocities that occurred, the legal and political context in the country, the goals and mechanisms of accountability that were pursued, the particular relationship between national and international approaches and between different types of accountability mechanisms, and the extent to which the mechanisms chosen were effective in overcoming obstacles and meeting key goals.
