General Thi, who was born in South Vietnam and was a military commander in the South Vietnamese Army during the Vietnam War, chronicles the largest battle of the war, the battle at the village of An Loc, which guarded the western approaches to Saigon. He focuses on the South Vietnamese army's successful efforts in the battle, which were largely unreported in the US media.
