This volume inaugurates a new series titled "Leiden Studies on the Frontiers of International Law," which aims to "re-map or re-think" some of the field's conceptual boundaries--to broach constrictive borders in the interests of creative new thought. The present volume is the result of a research project carried out at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies (Leiden University, The Netherlands). The introduction discusses institutional, substantive, and procedural fragmentation. Following are 23 chapters on legal pluralism, the judicial dialogue on the question of immunity, state responsibility and individual criminal responsibility for genocide, human rights cases in sub-regional African courts, limits of information -sharing between the International Criminal Court and truth commissions, Chinese humanitarian law and international humanitarian law, the Rome Statute, and the rights of victims, among other topics.
