Cataloging glass vessels found between 1931, when the excavations began, and 1972, when the most recent fragments were excavated, this volume represents Stern's efforts to complete the work of her colleague Weinberg, who had a stroke in 1995. Rather than following the practice of cataloging glass by shape or stylistic or technical criteria, arrangement here is chronological, beginning with the Classical and Hellenistic periods (the fifth to the late first century B.C.) and culminating with a section on medieval and later periods. Descriptive text, line drawings, and photos are accompanied by substantial essays on context and terminology. The volume measures 9x12".
