This visual reference for practicing surgeons features high quality, detailed b&w drawings on every page, illustrating key steps of procedures for vascular surgery. Forty-four procedures are grouped in six sections; each procedure includes basic instructions, notes on alternatives, and drawings, for a total of 375 illustrations. An introduction to each section summarizes diagnostic testing, indications, and complications for each procedure. This second edition reflects improvements and new knowledge in the field since 1993, and contains a new section on endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysms. Zarins is chief of vascular surgery at Stanford University Medical Center. Gewertz is chief of vascular surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center. The illustrator is Kathy Hirsch.
